Circle-In began on the side of a baseball field. What started as a parent's observation became a platform built on a simple belief – that team dynamics always constrain and/or enhance a team's roster's performative capacity and potential. Dynamics are a real force that are always in play, and need to be actively contended with.
A parent's observation. A coach's problem. A platform's purpose.
Like many parents I sat on the side of a baseball field watching how my son's team struggled both performatively and socially. I realized that the two were interrelated. This led me to capture my best thoughts (at the time) on what I was seeing and the potential causes.
Great teams are performatively coherent and socially cohesive. Coaches need to develop and manage both the ways of playing and the ways of being within their teams.
Great teams are performatively coherent and socially cohesive. Coaches need to develop and manage both the ways of playing and the ways of being within their teams in order to maximize performance potential. This is hard, for both time and skill diversity reasons.
This led to the belief that what coaches and players need are a set of simple tools and systems that create conditions that encourage generative player behavior and performance enhancing team dynamics.
Behaviorally cohesive teams communicate better, are more adaptive, learn faster, have more energy, have more trust, have more GRIT and get more out of their collective hard skill potential.
